We, meaning those of us that occupy ghettos, slums, villages, inner cities, and small towns gathered in groups with similar faces currently live in an illusion in which the mystique of being an “EMCEE” is exaggerated by fairy tales of after tax take home and net worth that confuses hood rich with future generations sustained by accumulated wealth not even allowed in a style of music that seldom sees a 20 year career and no one performs as long as the Rolling Stones or Aerosmith, not even Run DMC because “Rap Music” is a young mans “game”!
Game, a perfect name and a shame because that is what it has become.

The people are no longer receiving material that they can relate too and are being force fed synthetic materialism demanding we keep up with the Jones’ rather than notices that the Jones’ are no longer among us! We have forgotten that for a community to function and flourish, each one is to teach one, and we are to barter to help grow both what we have and that which we intend to have we must cultivate in unison! There is a lot of good Hip-Hop out there on the underground, just check shows like Zulu Radio, Zulu Tribe Radio, Offthecorner.net, Visual Caffeine, Zulu Beats, and so many others! To find… you must first seek! Where better than the first family of Hip-Hop? This artist does indeed carry on the Zulu Legacy that of Afrika Bambaataa, Red Alert, the Jungle Brothers, ATCQ, etc and waves the Red, Black, and Green Flag high!
It is often said by “fans” of rap music, “Hip-hop is dying, there is nothing out there! People between the ages 35 to 40 or better have nothing current to listen to!” Unfortunately many rappers DO refuse to grow up, but that is one of the many things that sets them apart from Emcees.
Emcees are world reporters, truth spreaders, and artist rather than flavors of the month motivated by 15 minutes of fame! The pleasant thing in discovering Samssun Featuring AyCE International, both of these men are over 35 and comprehend the mechanics of the industry, the art form, the culture, and their demographic. Their target audience is the 1,000,000 or more with similar taste and a hunger for a more pure “Hip-Hop sound” (break beats, samples, loops, snares, live bass-lines, live instruments, less hand claps)!
