Oddisee "You Know Who You Are" (Acoustic Version) Feat. Oliver Daysoul

 By Ralo

The Washington D.C. born Oddisee has released more than ten joints on a number of different labels. Born of a Sudanese father, Oddisee was exposed to many genres of music from an early age. He was introduced to Hip-Hop by his older cousins and found a culture that resonated with him. After getting his first piece of vinyl from his father he was inspired to begin producing. His first production credit came by way of DJ Jazzy Jeffs' "Magnificent" album in 2002.

In an interview with NPR Oddisee would say that artists like Rakim and A Tribe Called Quest were influential to him because they didn't talk about drugs or murder. He explained that he could relate more to their subject matter. These influences had an impression on topics he covers in his music.

Oddisees' latest endeavour is "People Hear What They See" on Mello Music Group. This project features a song called "You Know Who You Are". Oddisee has since  done an Acoustic Version of it with guitar vocals from Oliver Daysoul. This is progressive Hip-Hop that definitely pushes the envelope of creativity.
