The recent shootings of unarmed black men by police in America continues to put the topic of race on the front burner. Racism always has, and always will be part of the fabric of America. There are some conservative white people in America that are actually simple enough to think that after the election of a black president, we now live in a "post racial society". There could never be any such thing in a country that was founded on the enslavement of African people, and the genocide of indigenous people. America has been about racism and white Supremacy from the beginning.
Racism and white supremacy is defined as "the five hundred year old global system of exploitation and oppression of the dark skinned majority and special privilege and favored status of the light skinned minority created, maintained and perpetuated by Europeans-Aryans-Caucasians and their black and brown supporters. Rooted in an unconscious fear of white "genetic annihilation" by melanin rich people..."
This is a subject that is spoken about at length by psychiatrist Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. In her 1970 essay, "The Cress Theory Of Color Confrontation And Racism/ White Supremacy" she explained the origins of racism and white supremacy. Dr Welsing explains that when Europeans first began to leave Europe in the late 1400s, they encountered people of color everywhere else on the globe. After living with, and in some cases having children with these people of color, they realized the offspring looked like the people of color. At some point they realized that the white race would disappear if they continued to mix with people of color. At which point they decided that it was necessary for them to control and dominant people of color. The fear is white genetic annihilation.
If Baraka Obama was seen by someone who did not know his story, they would most definitely categorize him as black. No one would think right away that he was born to a woman of European origin and a black man from Africa. President Obama is proof positive that the African gene pool is genetically stronger than that of the Europen.
African Enslavement is another component that affects how white people perceive and view black people. Slavery devalued and dehumanized African people and caused whites to view African as "less than". The idea that black people are "less than" is still very pervasive in the minds of white America.
In his book "Breaking Rank", former LAPD patrolman Norm Stamper explains in detail how white police view black people- especially black males. He elaborates on the fact that white police personnel are afraid of black men. He goes further to say the bigger and blacker the black man, the more afraid the police are. The primary motivation of police killings is fear and lack of respect for black people.
In America every 28 hours someone is killed by police or security personnel. As of this writing, 300 people have been killed at the hands of police so far this year.

This list continues to grow longer each day. However, in a system of racism/ white supremacy, some Grand Juries don't even deem it necessary to charge police patrolman with felonies after killing unarmed black men that were not in the process of committing a crime. In the choking death of Eric Garner in New York City, the Grand Jury didn't even see it fit to charge Daniel Pantaleo with so much as a misdemeanor for unjustly killing a black man. The system of racism/ white supremacy permits white police patrolman to kill black men with impunity.
