The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on Monday, October 26, 2026, that JAY-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with mobile streaming available on NFL+.
For one of the most celebrated artists in rap history, the booking carries a particular weight: this will be the first time JAY-Z headlines the halftime show himself. His company, Roc Nation, has produced the show since its partnership with the NFL began in 2019, shaping the modern halftime era from behind the scenes while its founder remained off that stage.
Reflecting on the long road to the moment, JAY-Z said: "From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell recalled that when the league first reached agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, he had just one request — that JAY-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. Nearly seven years later, that request has become a headline booking.
The announcement caps JAY-Z's "JAY-Z 30" run, celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The run included three shows at Yankee Stadium in July, two nights in London on September 4-5, one night in Paris on September 10, and two finale shows at SoFi Stadium on October 23-24, with guests including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Too Short, John Legend and DJ Khaled.
A 25-time Grammy winner, JAY-Z was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. His halftime performance will therefore arrive not as a comeback, but as a coronation — a catalog-spanning artist, at the peak of a year-long anniversary celebration, finally taking center stage at the biggest television event in American sports.
