Sorry I expect so much from my listeners. For the most part, the majority of you all seem to get it, seem to understand the double meanings and the agendas and the end goal of the music I make. For that, I'm forever indebted to you guys. But sometimes, the others who are new to the party, or caught up in the hype of the current day run of the mill, seem to not wanna look past the surface. If that's the case, then hey, because I've never made surface music. Never will. Even the records that reached radio and TV and video games and television shows, they've always had hidden gems, double meanings, jewels that you may find immediately or may find in the foreseeable future. To me, that's what makes the music last, thus making it worth your $9.99 in a world where you could easily stream or DL for free. So on "Suicide Doors", the idea was for the cover and hook to be an error on purpose, as the underlying theme (besides a lyrical barrage) and storyline of the song and LP is "innocent ignorance/mislead youth". Coming from a generation and era where we as kids saw and wanted everything, and at times didn't even know what we were lusting for. It's the Chanel debate, when the hood gets ahold of it and spends entire paychecks on it to call it "channel". Or the Moscato debate, where it's a wine purely for dessert after dinner, but Drake repped it and made everyone drink it leisurely as if it were a vodka. It's been the cycle forever now, but hey, I went too high with the frisbees. I didn't know what a real suicide door was (when I've opened countless of 'em. You know my past). My question is, while I did it on purpose, didn't Ye' unknowingly do it on "Can't Tell Me Nothin"? Don't you all know the lyrics to that by heart? I actually used his vocals at the end of the song for that reason alone. The final nail in the coffin. But hey. "Let UP the suicide doors/this is my life homey, you decide yours".
